About Me

Fouzia Adjailia is a pioneering researcher in the field of artificial intelligence, with a deep understanding and passion for the intersection of facial expression recognition, human-robot interaction, and computer vision. Born in Algeria in 1993, she received her PhD in October 2021 from the Department of Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Kosice, where she conducted groundbreaking research on the use of AI in these areas. Throughout her academic career, Fouzia has consistently demonstrated her commitment to advancing the field of AI through collaboration and innovation. She has actively participated in training programs and research projects around the world, including a visit to Japan for the JST- CREST / IEEE-RAS SPRING SCHOOL and research on AI and urban living in Germany at the BMW SUMMER SCHOOL. In addition to her academic pursuits, Fouzia is also dedicated to sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. She is an experienced online course instructor and public speaker, sharing her passion for AI with audiences around the globe. As an ambassador for women in AI, Fouzia is also a fierce advocate for diversity and inclusion in the field. She has worked tirelessly to promote the participation and leadership of women in the world of AI, and her efforts have been recognized with a nomination for the WOMEN IN TECH GLOBAL AWARDS as the most disruptive woman in Artificial Intelligence. Fouzia's dedication to advancing the field of AI, as well as her commitment to empowering and inspiring others, make her a true leader and role model in the world of artificial intelligence. As a passionate advocate for gender equality in Artificial Intelligence, I have volunteered as an ambassador for Women in AI, Algerian Chapter. Through this role, I work tirelessly to promote greater participation of women in the field of AI by creating a more inclusive community and providing them with the resources and support they need to succeed. By organizing events, workshops, and mentorship programs, I aim to empower women to become leaders and innovators in AI, and to create a more diverse and inclusive industry that is better equipped to address the world's most pressing challenges. I am committed to continuing this important work and to building a brighter future for all women in AI.


As a robotist, I am proud to have designed and developed the first humanoid intelligent robot in the Arabic world. This achievement has earned me the distinction of being the first Arab female inventor of a robot, and I am passionate about using this platform to inspire others to pursue their own dreams in the field of robotics. My work in developing this groundbreaking robot has involved extensive research and collaboration with experts in robotics and AI, as well as a deep understanding of the technical and mechanical components required for its design. I am committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in robotics and AI, and to continuing to innovate and create transformative technologies that can make a positive impact on society.

I am the CEO and Founder of Gardenia Academy, the first bilingual academy to specialize in teaching Artificial Intelligence in both Arabic and English. Through my experience and passion for this transformative technology, I recognized the need for a platform that could provide AI education in a bilingual environment, and thus founded Gardenia Academy to cater to this need and eliminate the language barriers.


As a researcher, my interests lie in exploring the applications of Artificial Intelligence in various fields. Specifically, I am interested in the intersection of AI and human-robot interaction, focusing on facial expression recognition. In addition, I am passionate about the use of AI in psychiatry to enhance mental health outcomes, and numerical simulation to improve the accuracy and efficiency of complex systems and processes. Through my research, I seek to uncover new ways in which AI can be leveraged to create more seamless interfaces, better diagnose and treat mental health conditions, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of numerical simulations across various industries.


As an AI instructor, I am passionate about educating and training the next generation of AI professionals. I have designed and developed courses related to Artificial Intelligence in both Arabic and English, with a focus on providing comprehensive training that combines theory and practical applications. Through my courses, I aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in this rapidly evolving field. From machine learning and computer vision to natural language processing and deep learning, my courses cover the latest developments in AI research and provide students with a strong foundation to excel in their careers. I am committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI education and to providing a dynamic environment .
